I don't understand. EDIT: Unless the gun actually fires antimatter, in which case the word choice may be correct.

That's a totally valid source you've got there. An anti-material rifle is designed to shoot holes in fabric.

Material and materiel are separate words, but materiel is sometimes incorrectly spelled material. FTFY.
